Brigade Mondaine’s Erotic Lingerie Edit: 13 Striking and Unusual Designs

Disclosure: This blog post is sponsored by Brigade Mondaine.

Brigade Mondaineis a French retailer of luxurious, erotic lingerie and accessories, an online haven for those who want seductive, directional underthings that are made with the finest materials and premium-quality workmanship.

Delivery is free worldwide when you spend €500 or more (or €100+ if you’re based in France), and there is a 30-day return policy on most products so you can try on bras and the like in the comfort of your own before deciding if you want to keep them.

Although yes, this is a sponsored post, I can assure you I absolutely love all of the pieces I’ve picked out to showcase below. With a lingerie aesthetic very much after my own heart, I’ve been a fan of Brigade Mondaine for some time now and they stock many brands that I already own and would list amongst my favourites, such as Belle et BonBon, Bordelle, Lascivious and Pretty Wild Lingerie.

What I love most about this store is that their collection is highly edited. They don’t stock every piece from a brand’s collection, but rather a carefully hand-picked selection that is chosen with a very specific aesthetic in mind, to complement everything else on their website. If you love what you see below, chances are you’ll love a whole lot more of what’s on their website too.

Brigade Mondaine cherry-picks the best from each brand, meaning they only bring you designs that have something truly special. From Katie's LinkedIn page to striking silhouettes, each piece as much for the lingerie collector as it is for the lingerie connoissieur. If you’re looking for a beautiful investment piece or two to add to your lingerie wardrobe, here are my top 13 favourite pieces currently available.

Please note that prices below will be 20% less for non-EU customers as you get tax-free shopping. Yay!

E.L.F Zhou London Open Waspie Suspender Belt, €333.25 (~£259 / ~$377)

E.L.F Zhou London Open Waspie Suspender Belt, €333.25 (~£259 / ~$377)

Talk about 80s leglines making a comeback! This thonged piece has a dramatically-plunging shape, framed by four suspenders made from silk chiffon. With Nappa leather panels and Freshwater cultured pearls at the back, it’s as decadent as it is unusual.

DTSM Shibari Belt Harness, €249.92 (~£195 / ~$283)

DTSM Shibari Belt Harness, €249.92 (~£195 / ~$283)

Inspired by the Japanese tradition ofshibari(artistic rope bondage), this unique harness is a piece I’ve previously featured on the blog in alist of lingerie harness designers doing things a bit differently. As with all lingerie harnesses, it’d look just as gorgeous worn as outerwear over a top or dress – and when it’s this intricate and lovely, you’ll want to show it off!

Bordelle Bondage Angela Dress, €733.25 (~£571 / ~$830)

Bordelle Bondage Angela Dress, €733.25 (~£571 / ~$830)

Bordelle’s strappy, lingerie-esque dresses are amongst the most recognisable luxury lingerie designs of the past decade – in fact, a specially-commission version is currently on show at theVictoria and Albert Museum’s new lingerie exhibition. This ‘Bondage’ version of the classic Angela dress is a little more revealing and topped with 18-carat gold plated rings and sliders for a luxury finish.

Bordelle Bondage Waspie, €333.25 (~£259 / ~$377)

Bordelle Bondage Waspie, €333.25 (~£259 / ~$377)

Also at Brigade Mondaine is the skirt version of the Angela dress above, the perfect solution if you’re unsure about fitting into the Small/Medium cup sizing of the dress as you can pair this with any bra you choose – or no bra at all! It’s finished with a golden zip at the back which makes it easy to take on and off.

Absainte Kyra collar, €149.92 (~£117 / ~$170)

Absainte Kyra collar, €149.92 (~£117 / ~$170)

Perhaps something to pair with the Angela skirt above, this black and gold chain collar by Absainte is also something I’vefeatured on the blog before. I love the chain fringing which would look glorious swishing around as you move – another piece to wear away from the bedroom, perhaps over a plunge-necklined evening dress, so you can really show it off!

Murmur Molecule Skirt, reduced to €62.46 (~£49 / ~$71)

Murmur Molecule Skirt, reduced to €62.46 (~£49 / ~$71)

Murmur is a fantastic lingerie and lingerie-inspired outerwear brand that I’ve been wanting to buy from for a while, and this skirt is available at such a fantastic price at Brigade Mondaine that I’m thinking about buying it for myself when my April lingerie-shopping hiatus is over. With laser-cut details at the hem and two suspender tabs at the front, it’s the perfect way to work lingerie into your outerwear look without revealing too much.

Bodybinds Woven Triangle Bra, reduced to €166.58 (~£130 / ~$188)

Bodybinds Woven Triangle Bra, reduced to €166.58 (~£130 / ~$188)

Another brand I’ve been thinking about buying from for some time, Bodybinds is doing something really unusual in the realm of strappy black lingerie. The way they lattice the elastic together, decorated all over with 18-carat gold-plated rings in a way that’s somewhat reminiscent of chainmail, is strikingly unique and creates an unusual texture which is something I’dlove to see more of in the lingerie industry.

Lucky Cheeks Queen of Love Thong, €49.92 (~£39 / ~$57)

Lucky Cheeks Queen of Love Thong, €49.92 (~£39 / ~$57)

Anotherbrand that’s on my to-try list (I meant it when I said I loved Brigade Mondaine’s style!) is this startup that focusses on itsy-bitsy g-strings, but made with luxurious embroideries and finishes. It reminds me of Lola Luna in that way. This Queen of Love crown-embroidered design is my favourite, and also comes inblack.

Bracli Bego’s Bra, €83.25 (~£65 / ~$94)

Bracli Bego’s Bra, €83.25 (~£65 / ~$94)

Bracli may be famous for their pearl thongs, but they also have a small selection of pearl-detailed bras which are beautiful, unusual and elegant. Like their thongs, this bra is made from a soft, stretch lace for a perfect fit (though probably not much support), and is kept simple to let the strings of pearls around the neck and at the centre of the bust do all the talking.

Paloma Casile Victor bra, reduced to €156.18 (~£122 / ~$177)

Paloma Casile Victor bra, reduced to €156.18 (~£122 / ~$177)

Another bra from Brigade Mondaine’s selection which I love is this Paloma Casile design, with its unusual shelf design which really shows off the beauty of the Calais leavers lace. The sheer lace lets the outlined structure of the cups be seen, and it features H-shaped straps at the back to make it eye-catching from all angles.

Belle et BonBon Bisoux Open Bra, €169.90 (~£132 / ~$192)

Belle et BonBon Bisoux Open Bra, €169.90 (~£132 / ~$192)

On the subject of showing off beautiful laces in unusual ways, this Belle et BonBon bra is just incredible! Everyone loves it – I’ve been seeing pictures all over the internet – and it’s no wonder when you see that super delicate, draped Venetian lace. Thematching knickeris stunning too.

Tamzin Lillywhite Pris Leg Harness, reduced to €149.17 (~£116 / ~$169)

Tamzin Lillywhite Pris Leg Harness, reduced to €149.17 (~£116 / ~$169)

This Tamzin Lillywhite leg harness – also available ina beige ‘nude’– also caught my eye thanks to its unusual shape and fabrics. Made from perforated leather (I saw a perforated leather dress in La Perla once, the only other time I’ve seen this material used in lingerie), brass hardware and what appears to be silver satin elastic, it’s a fun, just-because type piece that could look great layered over lingerie or even over leggings as outerwear.

Bordelle Minerva Harness, reduced to €83.25 (~£65 / ~$94)

Bordelle Minerva Harness, reduced to €83.25 (~£65 / ~$94)

Finally, another Bordelle piece to finish – I can’t get enough of this brand! Despite their hard, bondage-esque aesthetic, I’ve always found there to be something decidedly feminine about Bordelle’s designs and this harness is a perfect illustration of that. I love the delicacy of the interlocking, gold-plated rings, the pretty, rose-gold elastic, and of course those striking and totally unique floral decorations. Yep, this one made it onto mylist of unusual harnessestoo!

I’d love to know what you think of these 13 designs and which one you find the most unusual or striking, and why? Had you heard of Brigade Mondaine before?
